QUOTE (khael @ Sep 21 2011, 12:42 PM) If Kotetsu actually did die, he would've reached Spike levels of badass. Too bad. They probably decided to keep him alive for the next project/sequel. Killing him off would most likely turn Kaede into a vengeful Batman/Lunatic.
you know, that alternate reality would make an interesting 26th episode, OVA or some T&B special with Kotetsu's death after Barnaby directly shoots him destroying H-01 in the process and Kaede is witness of his accidental murder seconds before using Blue Rose's power to untie her hands, help the other heroes and everything else happens just like ep.25 except for Tiger being alive

"...years later since she ran away from home to the big city she grows up looking just like her late mom and is training her NEXT ability with the heroes, so much it evolves that now she can copy and keep all their powers indefinitely but her grudge towards them grows day by day to avenge her father as they were unable to save him, blaming specially Barnaby, the hero she admired the most in the past"

The last time I watched this series was back in June according to the posts in this thread, which makes sense. I re-watched only episode 11 and then continued to finish this series, which actually turned out to be a pretty good anime with strong episodes. I like the little 1 year time skip and the whole 1 minute thing with Kotetsu is kinda funny and what's even crazier is the schoolgirl Karina has feelings for our dear old Tiger, which to me kinda seemed out of place as well as being natural in a sense as most of the other characters see her as more of a hero and comrade, whereas, Kotetsu saw her as a girl with a passion in singing.

I'm not too surprised that this series is getting movies to continue its tale. Good Job to Sunrise. I'm rating this series 8/10.

When I started watching this anime, I did it more out of boredom then anything else and thought: ah, this is really cheesy and.... bahhhh

But just like you said JCD, about in half of the anime it suddenly picked up and glued me to the screen. I practically marathoned through it and I must admit it is a nice series. I would as well give it 8/10.

Synopsis: The production of two films based on the series was announced during a special event on November 13, 2011. The first film, titled Gekijō-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning- is based on the first two episodes of the TV series with additional new scenes and was released in Japan on September 22, 2012, with the second, Gekijō-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Rising-, to be released in Fall 2013.

Necropinion: as expected from the title this first film is only an extended remake but its 2nd half has new story, still I enjoyed it so is worthy enough for a year and 1/4 necrobump to update this thread... I just hope the next one will be a sequel to the TV series and not another retelling of episodes, then i'll think about my final scores after I see it released on BR/DVD (probably mid 2014)

Ok, I just erased this and have to do it again....

Just finished the T&B anime series and 2 films... great dub.... perhaps the best I've heard... though the Haruhi Suzumiya dub was very good also. You sure do notice a good professional VA job....not to knock the fansubs, but they don't have the money to really do it 'right'... to hire the 'right' voices etc... they seem to use the same people in their group, paid or not. THough even paid professionals don't always get the job done.... Only Yesterday is a good example... how can they hire a guy with an accent when none of the others have one? Just doesn't fit.... oh well.

The 2 films were alright.... best part of the 2nd was our MC starting to lose his powers and ends up facing reality and exits to a regular job, then the B team.. sort of like 'hero support' in a few other projects, one currently on tv I think. To really do a 3rd film 'right' or better yet, another season, they need to bring back his powers... there's an easy way to do that... in terms of 'keeping the channel clean'... etc., which would be easier perhaps to deal with in another 25 seasons, and then cover their ongoing investigation of that symbolized terror network that seems like one of our Western 'deep state' operations, from the anime.. the films really didn't mention this group much at all, only to imply at the very end credits roll, that symbol again found on their Stern dollar bill.... comparison seems to indicate the 'evil eye' atop our dollar bills here in the States.... same thing seems to be implied, and it fits.

I saw on Wikipedia, that there's a Hollywood project for a live action version.. announced in Oct'15.. screenwriter set up late '16... so that implies they haven't started production yet... earliest is probably this summer '17... then fall or next summer '18 release... unless they are looking at Xmas, though most of these superhero projects are released in summer I think... I don't watch them... but casting hasn't been announced yet, and that would be interesting... I liked the look and feel of the anime, the VAs (english - not engrish!), storyline etc,, all very good, especially for this type of material.. I'd put it in with some of the best magical girl stuff I've seen... most of the 'boy' stuff lacks in character development and good plotting etc... at least IMO... but this one has done a rather good job... at least in the anime 25 eps.. the films are good, but pretty much filler it seems until the anime gets a new season.

This was a rather nice surprise for me... the MC of Tiger was very good in terms of personality setup and development... the rest of the characters as well to a lesser extent, the Bunny character isn't as interesting, not that they don't give him a good backstory of losing his parents etc... typical for this fare... the brainwashing/mind control bit was a nice touch in that regards... I'd expect Tiger to regain his powers for a new season... that can be scripted with a nice touch if done right... and fit in with his partner's ongoing investigation etc. A little 'spiritual' channel cleansing would suffice.... 'to those with more, more is expected' idea to develop, which fits in with this concept of heroes.... something not seen American hero projects... which the two films here are more like actually. They series and even the films did setup for a continued story with that symbol group.... Tiger's daughter etc... Blue Rose love interest.... written rather well considering the age difference... nice little bit of writing that isn't often seen in most anime projects, and like any story, song, dance... it always comes down to the story. Either it's there or it isn't. A good team can only do so much with a bad or banal story... something T&B doesn't have to worry about.... unless they continue to do these films that don't advance the story much.

All that would be cool to see, they just released mini animations after movies... short as its prototype pilot, i haven't find subbed the 'Sound 0f T&B' one yet -_-
