Title: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

Genre: fantasy, harem

Episodes: 12

Plot:
In a world where spirits exist and only pure maidens have the privilege of contracting with the spirits, maidens from noble families gather at Areishia Spirit Academy where they are trained and given an Elite's education in order to qualify to become an elementalist. Enter Kamito Kazehaya, a male teenager who does something thought impossible - he contracts with a spirit. Being the only male elementalist in the world (and only the second male elementalist in 1000 years) he received an invitation from the Academy's director, Greyworth Ciel Mais, to come to Areisha Spirit Academy.

Impression:
So a sword wielding guy goes to a school full of girls...what to expect. Yep, a harem with some magic as an extra. Well, it ain't completely wrong to see this series like expected. The girls are all falling for the main guy but he ain't reacting to it. Is he oblivious to them as most series? You would expect it but he ain't. He is just so determined in getting to Restia he ain't got time for the others.
Storywise it ain't very original but something keeps it interesting. What happened to Kamito and Restia in the past that they are apart now?
Characters are pretty simple but likeable.
Until now it is pretty nice series which i will keep on watching.

I gave this show 2-3 episodes just to give it a shot and see what it could do. Not much it turns out. Almost everything about it was super generic fantasy light novel fare. Stuff I've seen in multiple other shows prior to this one.

Well pretty much the only thing to watch for this is mostly for the generic fantasy bits, and the occasional fanservice here and there as of late. Other then that it's an okay time killing anime.

Yeah, the genericness is strong with this one. It does seem to be one of the earlier Moelandia Academy harem stories, but that doesn't always work out in its favor.

It has a few things that it executes well, but doesn't seem very coherent to me. I'm still not understanding why Claire's older sister was the one doing the spirit dance if "Ren Ashbell" won the blade dance. I haven't rewatched it for clarification (not really caring enough), but I kind of got the idea that Restia ditched him during the tournament when she realized Claire's older sister could be ruined easier.

It does have some charm to it in that Kamito's reactions are somewhat different and more manly than the usual status quo and that makes things play out in a slightly less implausible way. (The girls are usually the ones doing unrealistic things.) It's still ridiculous at multiple levels, but at least Kamito seems to have chosen a winner early on and is otherwise ignoring things.

Est is really rubbing me the wrong way. Maybe it's just that Elemental Gelade's Ren did the whole weaponized clueless ditz thing way, way better.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

Well, It was at least a lot better then Dragonar Academy or Machine Doll / Familiar of zero, Sadly this 1 has a open end as well.
Either way, I do actually hope for another season, this was pretty good animated and much more tolerable then the other three I mentioned, when it comes to certain characters / development.

Overall, my rating for Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: 7,6/10
Animation: 9/10
Story: 7/10
Characters: 7/10

Overall normal serie, not much of action or anticipation, pretty boring on that part, but it beats all of the three I mentioned in the begin, if you ask me.

Pretty much I feel like there will be another season of this, but half of me is saying don't hold your breath on that. I mean if they wanted to setup the characters that are pretty much the main cast they did a rather mediocre job if you ask me. In the end it feels like they are trying to make this into a harem series of sorts with the fiery red-headed loli as the lead here.

In any case if they do another season of this, I want to say this might end up being kind of a Louise series rip of sorts, minus the "baka inu" line of course.
