.....Well then first offf i would like to say i did this coming but i didn't know it would be this bad...a "GEEK" told me i could install this , he was from the GEEK sqaud from Best Buy which dosn't matter. He told me i could install the home Premium of Windows vista
biggrin.gif
i was happy but when i did something bad happened...... My sound driver vanished my network adaters failed and i had no control over my video card. "WOW" what an experience. I don't need help with this though cause im taking it in to a speacialist oh well you would say huh. heh.

Anyway the thing i need to say is Don't Use Vista until you know from a pro if it will install without bugs
biggrin.gif
then you can

_This has nothing to do with window vista users cause they have the wow without the bugs_

If you do have bugs place them here in this thread so people may know whats wrong with it just as a reference.

LOL wait isn't that what happens when you change OS or update your OS? Because my old computer did that for XP. Just look around online to reinstall the sound driver, change your network config since it's a huge change on vista, and for the video... take that to the specialist.

But LOL, you remind me of that commercial about Windows PC getting a diagnosis and Mac PC was questioned about the vista thing.

dunno about the sound and network
the drivers for the graphics cards are still full of bugs and in Beta stage

I'm waiting for the Service Pack 1 for Vista to be released by autumn
the drivers should be out of beta by then and most programs should be comfortable with Vista

I could run Vista Ultimate, but I'd need 1 GB more of memory
with 1 GB it won't be very pleasant XD

I'm just gonna skip all the Vista upgrade hassles and keep my Windows XP until I get a new computer. I don't think all those upgrade hassles and the cost of Vista are worth upgrading at this point from XP, although there is a lot of sexy and cool features of Vista that I want.

If your wondering about upgrades for drivers they told me they had to replace 6 drivers for my computer. YAY! it cost about 60$....
sad.gif
oh well at least it will work good and yeah i have all the requirements for windows vista ultimate so i could download and install that if i wanted but i don't wanna mess my system up cause i don't need to do the same bull**** again lol.
-EDIT-

if it's asking to make backups, then missing software is not the issue.. it's Windows saying it knows better than the user
smile.gif
"even though you don't want to make backups, i think you should do them!!"

I installed Windows Vista Pro on one of my pc's and the only thing I had to update was just the sound card driver. Easy download from the SONY Vaio site. After that was just downloading patches for my programs such as quicken, pinnacle, norton etc. The only thing that I was bummed out about was my mkv player... it no longer worked so after searching through the internet I found a codec pack which I installed and got a new player which plays mkv files. Back to watching anime with that ext. Either than that, Vista is an awesome OS.

hell, a wallpaper that good makes it a shame that i hardly see my desktop at all, when i use my computer..

windows finally looks good alright.. it's obvious where they got the ideas from (i'm a mac user), but the end result's still pretty good. it just demands too much from the hardware just to look pretty..

[Moderator's note: you're going off topic here..]

dang it, i went to bestbuy going too check if my computer was done and they said one or two more days due too easter.

im trusting them to get those drivers fixed and running correctly, i can only hope and wait and yes it is not fun not having my computer, im kinda going crazy 0-0

Yeah, ill admit - Vista is like sitting on a seat with nails sticking out of it...

*sigh* im still fiddling with my audio card - see if i cant get the STEREO MIX for TS working.

lol, have you ever sat on a chair of nails, or laid on a bed of nails? it's actually rather comfortable. Iunno, I personally really like vista and have had no problems with it whatsoever, nor has anyone else I personally know who has it.

Am I the only one that don't like the new User Account Control system? Because I think that it's really annoying to confirm every single thing when it's obviously not harmful, it waste time too...even the new mac commercial is making fun about it~

here's a question, my pc is 1.6Gz, and I want to play a game that required 1.7Gz. So will I be able to play that game? and are there anything I should be concerned too? I'm a noob when it comes to pc-gaming...

OMG.. DONT remove the user account control.. my com is a Spam-zombie cuz i did that... it took forever for me to bring my gom back from the living-dead >.<

Edit: lol.. honestly i dont have a prob with it. Im using it right now and i love the interface, and i love the fact that it was instantly compatable with my 512MB graphics card.. my god.. on XP i have to actualy SEARCH for my audio driver... Its not as useable, but the driver that vista provided saved me from having the all-intrusive remote connection helpers lol

No you should not be able to do so. Don't buy the game if your system is not above the system requirement because; Your pc will not be able to handle the game (performance wise) and you'll get a shit load of lag. So unless you want to waste your time and money... and possibly your pc, don't even think about it.

Off-topic: Apple really should put more money into making _better_ products than on comedy routines about their competitors.

On-topic: Why would anyone get Vista right now? Vista is an entirely new OS, so you have to expect tons of incompatibility issues and other multitudes of conflicts early on...

Considering the last benchmark test I saw that seemed to show Vista loves to waste resources (mainly to that new Aero feature) and is generally _slower_ than XP, I think I'll stay away from Vista.

Once most PC games become DirectX10 dependent then I'll buy Vista. But even then I'll most likely dual boot with XP and Vista. Only using Vista for gaming, and using XP for everything else.

Personally my computer (running XP) has been going downhill rapidly since I bought it. It is beginning to crash more frequently and has not been running at full capacity anyways. Since I bought this computer(laptop) straight from the store I don't have a full copy of Windows XP anyways... Stupid Manufacturers... So I obtained a copy of Vista and will install it once I find the time. So far I have run Vista on a virtual PC and it seems to have worked perfectly fine. The only thing I will have a problem with when I do upgrade is the Realtek HD audio driver I need to find.

Sure Vista isn't perfect but it is a step forward and at least it didn't turn out like ME did... *shudders* I still have a PC at home running ME and I'm amazed it still boots. lol

Note: The reason my computer is so messed up is most likely because it was configured with FAT32 drives and not formatted to NTFS. Manufacturers sure know how to mess up a PC. Any time my PC crashes it loses a little data because of the FAT32 drive. Eventually it probably won't boot.

Recently my Vista is acting weird lately because every time I try to boot my PC, the blue screen of death keep telling me that Windows have to shut down because a hardware/software not installed properly. After 7-8 times of reboot the blue screen still comes up, so I went to safe-mode and used that "System Restore". It allows me to go back when windows was working properly, Vista is pretty cool...luckily I don't have to lose my Ecchi Pics folder, AGAIN

ROFL that's why I still connect to my main computer.. oh how i love having routers for this one time.

Gah, I don't like vista when it comes to using programs that uses other programs.. it doesn't start up other apps properly, so that's one disadvantage i found out to Vista.

Some advices from an old-man

1) Do not install a new OS until a decent amount of time passes and so the service packs would be on their way.

2) The OS might work well on a Virtual PC but not 100% sure on your PC.

3) Vista, for the time being, are just for 'Asta la vista baby" and nothing more. Why to change OS?

4) As I learned a great deal of drivers would be out of Vista and in some cases even the XP driver might not work on them (because some people tried it).

5) Use your good-old and fully tested current OS. Trust no1. Especially the first releases of an OS.

Try to find a spare PC and download a good version (preferrably OEM) of the new OS, install it in the spare PC and test it for a certen amount of time BEFORE you use it in your main machine.
