Episode 3
Confronted with what appears to be Iroha's doppel it is not long before Yachiyo and Kuroe are swept away…
Soon after, Yachiyo is woken up she is startled to see Felicia, Tsuruno and Sana.
Confused she tries to gain her bearings rushing to Iroha who remains asleep in her bed.
This sudden turn of events is pretty baffling for Yachiyo and viewers alike. What just happened exactly? Kuroe fills us in and it would seem that Iroha's doppel has absorbed both of them into what can only be described as an alternate reality.
We also learn of the Eternal Sakura rumour which has the power to draw Iroha. In this next scene we discover that Iroha’s sister has some connection to key players in the Magius.
Things still seem to be a bit off. What are we actually witnessing? A dream, a fantasy?
The penny does drop for Yachiyo and the gravity of their situation becomes clear. She decides she must save Iroha alone without the help of the Magius.
But there is a twist as Kuroe is sprung into another battle with what appears to be a battle with a witch.
We get another switch back to Yachiyo as she runs across a field to find what appears to be a silhouette of Iroha. These jumbled sequences resemble a dream that is losing coherence.
This dream like set of events is only reinforced when we see the next scene as gaps are filled with Iroha’s imagination…
Then there is that recurring mystery bear. Is that the key to unlocking everything?
Just to drive the point home Kuroe asks Iroha why she cannot remember how her actual sister looks like. This only invites scorn from Iroha…
Yachiyo is confronted and when met face to face to what she considers the enemy she goes for the jugular…
But was that really a good idea? It definitely strikes a nerve as Iroha unleashes a wave of fury!
This anger however is borne out of fear; the fear of the magical girl curse, the prospect of losing her friends and, most of all, never finding her sister. It is those fears that inspired her to create this dream like world where all the harsh realities can be ignored.
Yachiyo and Kuroe finally confront the doppel in a climatic battle which finally sets Iroha free.
Episode 6
After an emotional reunion Iroha, Yachiyo and Kuroe return home.
It is here that Iroha learns what will become of Nemu Hiiragi.
Eager to see her they set out to find Nemu in the hotel of Faint Hope only to hit a snag.
Kuroe and Iroha manage to enter the portal and have a heart-to-heart conversation about their future. It is here we learn why Kuroe had joined the Magius.
Soon they meet some unexpected guests in Runa and Kaede.
There is no time to savour the moment however as it would seem various members of the Magius are hot on their heels. Plus, what is up with Kaede?
After a brief interlude we see Iroha and her group have reached what appears to be a witch factory…
But then they are confronted with what can only be security. Another battle ensues and the foe is dispatched.
But any sense of triumph is quickly forgotten as another monster has come to attack the girls.
Stunned by these recent events the monster is put in some sort of quarantine cell much to the anguish of the girls.
It all raises further questions about the motives of the Magius. Do they really offer hope and salvation for magical girls?
