This show isn't bad... but if you aren't already a fan, it mostly falls rather flat.... a few highpoints... but making nearly everyone 'invincible' or too likeable or too stupid like Spartacus?? WTF did they do to him??!! A western creative team wouldn't even mess with this historical persona this way... is that because it is this history? Do the Nipponese or Chinese or Asian in general.. in the arts mess with their own archetypes/heroes this way? taking so many liberities, messing around with their tropes, personalities, sex etc? I'm guessing the answer is no.... But I don't know...
Actually they like to mess up Eastern ones, specially Oda Nobunaga xD its war has rules nobody is invincible but yes... poor Berserkers ;( still I enjoyed ep.11 as usual respect your opinion, yet you're taking FA a bit too seriously

I like Nobunga, but it's so damn short that it feels a burden to go through all it for just a few mintues... the titles are almost longer! It'd be better if they just edited it all together... it'd only be about one regular ep length... which they probably will later.

As for taking FA too seriously, I think it's mostly that I know some of the 'hero' backgrounds enough to see how they are messing with them... and it simply doesn't make sense.. which wouldn't be too bad if this was more of a comedy like Nobunga.... which seems like a cool way to learn history for little k ids... as an introduction to history... but I don't know the history covered in it to know how much they are messing with it, so I can't take it seriously, and they don't seem to themselves either... fun show, just too damn short!

Were the other Fate versions done in the same manner as this one? If so, the 'heroes' are in name only, right? Using the 'mask' of the hero, and not really the person themselves, which doesn't matter if the audience doesn't know about them. That humunulous guy with the hero's heart seems to be the one they are pushing into the real hero archetype... but they really aren't giving him the proper treatment... the 'Grail Quest'... the journey which is the quest... the grail within. A good demo of this done 'right' is when Lucas met with Joseph Campbell for Star Wars to get his 'heroes' 'right'....( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Myth)... of course, you could say that this kid is like young Luke Skywalker when he leaves Yoda early to help his friends.... unprepared is he for the battle he soon faces with his 'father', which cost him a limb.. the price you pay for your ignorance, which he only learns later returning to Yoda to finish his studies/training.

now that you mention SW Finn and Sieg are MCs alike, clone 'failure' with free will returns to fight after escaping... so is bad if historical figures aren't exactly as we 'know' like ep'12, a Dracula Re:created by Bram Stoker or Castlevania?b)

Fate/Apocrypha cour 2, more recap Betrayals or recontracts than other Fate/s?

it seems that Astolfo's Master snapped when he decided to protect Sieg from the group over looking her way, and it looks like she might end up doing something overtly insane if she isn't kept in check.
not anymore by ep'13 xD so, last boss is Amakusa like in Samurai'Shodown?:p

so maybe that's where this anime's storyline will take him?... it does seem rather comical at times, meant for boys... who are only dreaming of being a hero. Divergence is implied it seems... typical of hero journeys along the path... to divert the young potential hero from their true quest.... too serious perhaps.. but I think mostly that I see the pattern in play and would like it done truer to form... but usually the production teams stick to the usual trope show. Isn't that what's being done here? that kid seems the odd one out.. young Luke.

PS... perhaps another reason I'm taking this a little more 'serious', is that this production team included the role of the scribe... another historical figure of Shakespeare.... the one who crafts the image of the 'hero'/mask on which the archetype rests.... otherwise, why is that character there? so far, his role seems mostly comical or jester like... he must have a bigger or more important role later... as these heroes exist because of the stories later told about them by these scribes/writers/animators... without which, they would cease to exist... but the archetypes would be reborn anew in the next civilization... which is what these hero stories usually point to... the next generation... like young Luke, and in the new version of Star Wars, the girl plays that part, and Luke the teacher like Yoda.... Oh well...

we'll see soon why Will was summoned (not to write tragedies) ;p finally, after a week break ep.20 is reaching its climax... Nice aerial battle with Black faction winning by numbers, unless Amakusa can cast heaven's feel inside the grail

Well it still feels like this might end up being a SiegxRuler ending of sorts and I'm not sure as to why though. I know this wouldn't happen but I feel like there would be kind of a fight between GARcher and Shirou here due to Shirou actually being of the Ruler Class as well.

0r vs his Avenger self? no FHA anime yet, still it's like Trigger animated ep'22... full of action with Atalante's feral skill, also the killedr loli cake surprised me :d

I have to say with this episode I want to see them do an Alter form of Atalante in FGO now since pretty much her attack from is the same but yet different. Also, yes I did notice the nosedive in the animation quality for most of the fight scenes here too. Although since I do have her on my roster in FGO I really hope they will add her Alter form to it as well. I mean if I ever get Jeanne on my roster I get this feeling that there would be some special conversations in the My Room setting, just like when you have certain Servants on your roster.

I see Fate/Extra in that list..... Looks like it might be either between Extra and CC, Extra itself, or before Extalia here. Either way more umu in a way for me here. Since Shaft is doing it I'm expecting a lot of "Dat Head Tilt" here.
that's how ep'1 starts ;/ glad to see Rin and Sakura here, yet why shinji too?-_-

In Extra Shinji and Tohsaka are kind of brought into it so there is a familiarity towards those who saw the original works. Also, yes BB is also there as well, and from the looks of it I noticed they showed the Haruko female version in the opener, but it looks like the male version is going to be the lead role here. So with that being said this may end up being the CCC storyline here, and that might mean seeing Nursery Rhyme in this. Also, yes we finally get to see Umu in all of her glory this time too.

waited for UTW but they won't sub it :/ As usual Shaft style, from a mandatory bath ep'2 to meeting smexcis Rider... still you're right yet sadly not Foxy caster instead, so I doubt Shiki or Arcueid as Berserker and any Apocrypha Servant :(

So with episode 2 we confirmed that SHAFT loves doing the bathing scenes with a blonde lady of course and showing off 'Dat Head Tilt too. Also, Tamamo bathing scene when now? Also, since playing FGO I see that Francis Drake is the first Servant that doesn't look all mangled and gives off the vibe of what the first stratum is really all about. Although when I saw the all female police escort I could only guess as to whom would do such a thing, and yes seeing Nero spout off on how she likes cute things be they males or females pretty much shows how indiscriminate she can be when she sees things she likes as always.

*edit*
Also, with Eliza actually show up, since I enjoy that cute Dragon Idol Lancer of course. :3

umucounter in ep'3 by FMfansub ;p so she copied rider's noble·phantasm, too bad Shinji got more screentime than her... yet makes sense if Eliza is lancer as F/A already got Vlad III and /SN Cúchulainn, aside Rin i hope Passionlip joins!;)

More like she used her Imperial Privilege to send a shipwreck to hit Drakes' ship to be precise. Also, it seems that no matter what existence Shinji is in he will always have a Rider Servant.

yep he gets a pink-haired hottie always yet unlucky to lose as first, his fault -.- so Umu's NP is like F/Z berserker's... now ep.4 castles and forest are fitting for the stealthy Robin Hood, also each floor likely has 1 Master without Servant :p

Well we have to deal with the Robin Hood portion, then it gets further in with a few more servants though. The 3rd Stratum story is already up, but I'll try and watch it when I get the chance to do so.

I feel a bit weirded out that I called Nursery Rhyme for the series, and not only that but also seeing her Master too. Apparently this is going to be those loop issues until they trip the right flags after so many runs on this floor now.

I get this feeling that since SHAFT did this they knew how to pull off this episode rather well in a way. I mean if you noticed it seemed like something from the Magical Madoka series in a way with Nursery Rhyme here. In any case this makes me wonder if he has the memories of when he went up there once as his female form now here, and Nero did mention she managed to get up to the Angelica Cage once before too.
