Well that's also the other rule of comics, "Always give it an open end for a story arc, since there will always be more to work with down the road."Besides the "To be Continued?" is just to see if it'll garnish enough hype and support for this to continue for a second season. It was pretty much the classic way of having a series keep on going at times.
sadly no studio Bones, yet ep'1 interests me more than Stan Lee's heroman -_-

That synopsis sounds like almost half of the animes in the past decade, no? and half of most American films as well, and tv recently as well... seems they are stuck in a rut of repetition. Reality of approaching events does presage this issue but never anything new... just the same thing repeating itself. Then the only thing to compare is which aniime did it better? Sure, some are first, but others might do it better later on which make you forget the early ones.

Is it any good? Or just the same X-Men stuff as usual?

Just got an english dub yesterday still i find this interesting enough, despite its flaws like the lack of originality... Animation and retro designs look surrealistic at times but better ep.3 Lisa, a disabled Reflected awakening mecha powers :p

That applies to the annoying song 'Sky Show' here except ep.5, best for me so far with Vy and Michael sheltering 'Refs'... but I wonder when its 4 idol singers (ending) fight as magical girls, ala Dragon Ball Super or Samurai Flamenco?
