So giving the benefit of the doubt here (because your post kind of comes across as spam) but would you like to expand on what exactly you want announced on the front page? Looking in the announcement section of the forum, a new thread hasn't been made since February - that would be a long time to keep something on the main page.
As the recent forum posts and recent uploads are always changing, the page itself isn't static. We don't really need a space-holder for announcements if there's nothing to announce, just to make the page look "updated".

Yeah i agree with Chiisai, when it comes to posts, anime eps, you tube AMVs and the Odd anime recomendation the front page hardy stays the same........
What would you want to be updated anyway? If your thinking of Anime/Manga etc, to me that seems sorta pointless since if it was something major, most of the time if not all the time the chances are its already being discussed in the forums anyway.

There are not enough announcements to make the move worthwhile. I suppose the front page could have a bulletin to the latest anime news (taken straight from ANN). Then again that sounds like a lot hassle and I'm not sure it's worth the effort. I guess the move will safe people a couple of clicks!

this might be a late response. but i think this idea is okay. we (uh..
i mean this main site) still have plenty of space at the left portion (popular, browse, by genre, etc...). so i think the idea proposed by gundamwing-san is a good one. if only he'd give some more details + description. (aah, even so we already have announcement at the right portion of the main site)
so here's my point. how about at the left portion we add (announce) "New Series Added" (or something) so that can further promote the new released series + we can keep up to date to new released series (especially for those who doesn't check the site regularly) XD.
another thing i can suggest is if we can announce the server down or move or under maintenance or something (plus the series that affected) so that other people can aware of what is happening with the connection error or what so ever.

The new series announcement sounds pretty good. That's honestly something that I could use myself, since I often download at least one episode of each new series that comes out (as long as it looks interesting).
Most of the downtime and connection errors are localized problems. Fansub.TV's network is designed to either fail entirely, in which case an announcement is generally impossible, or in small portions at a time, in which an announcement would only be relevant to a handful of people.
Oh, by the way, I'm performing maintenance on the servers at the moment so the quality of service may be temporarily degraded.
