Your image link doesn't work. Probably because it was deleted by the host. This obviously means that what you posted was offensive and also confirms the reason for your posting.

I also have seen some inappropriate ads on the site. This is not Fansub.tv 's fault but if Fansub could talk to their ad supplier/agency/etc that would be great.

Ya I was hoping daft would talk to the add suppliers like he did before.

Hmm, strange, the link works for me, guess I'll try to re-upload it.

Yeh me again, most of you already likely know about the annoying adds that come each time you visit the site, most of em which feature adult content. I wonder if any action will be taken to get rid of these adds cause your forced to view them and are redirected to another page each time you visit this site. If you need proof, pm me or post here and I'll take a SS.

Uhhh I haven't SEEN ANY ads for almost a year now. You SURE it's not some sort of spyware on your side?

i get that same ad when i visit the site too, it redirects to the ad, then it says on top, to continue to FTV click here.

I get the Add almost every time, and not on the same computer either. I've gotten it on my work computer, as well as my ibook. Sometimes it wont even allow you to hit the back button nothing short of closing the window and starting over. I'll grab a screen cap next time it does it.

If you can get a screenshot of it, that would be good since I can request to have that specific ad removed.

noob, you may have turned ads off (it's an option; but I've never selected it b/c it decreases the revenue from what I understand). I've also noticed the redirection - though there's always a button that says "click here to continue to FTV" or something of the sort - and it's not caused by a virus or some form of malware (completely clean, and it happens on every computer I've used).

On the other hand, the ads I have seen haven't been offensive or inappropriate that I've noticed. At worst, it may have been one of those dating sites where they pass it off as 'social networking'. I've been keeping my eye out for inappropriate ones though b/c I believe I was the first to complain about them way back when.

Thanks for reminding me, but no. I haven't turned off the ads. Good try.

Okay, here's an SS of it:

Next?

Edit: Just saw daft's post. Then if we were to kill advertisements based on pictures, then we ought to kill ecchi thread too. I mean, in that ad the subject had MORE dress worn THAN MOST if not all of the subjects in ecchi thread.

That's not the point noob. You can avoid the Ecchi Pics threads - you can't avoid the ad(s). The ad(s) are displayed on screen - and you have no say of what is shown except by turning ALL the ads off. The Ecchi Pics threads though, you have to purposefully click on that link; and you know exactly what your getting into by doing so.

If some 13 year old kid was visiting FTV when he got redirected to that ad, and then his parent(s) saw the screen, questions would be asked and the kid would potentially not be allowed to visit the site anymore. Situations like that are what we're trying to avoid.

Actually YOU can avoid ads. It's just that your denying it. All you have to do is click SKIP THIS AD. Surprisingly, that'll come up a split second before the images. That image is cleaner than most of the anime shown where the characters are half naked.

Are you saying that a 13 year old who's viewing all these anime series in which characters are half naked 50% of the time should worry about coming across an ad (that will probably happen to a few small proportion of the ftv population) in which the subject is not even half naked?--- IF in any case, you were right and parents were stupid enough to think that picture was inappropriate, they should remind themselves that's just an ad. ADS ARE PRACTICALLY EVERYWHERE. Have you seen the TV commercials lately? I mean the chick is 90% naked and yeah, I'm talkin about one of those shampoo commercials. Do you actually think that parents are that narrow minded that they're not able to distinguish ads/commercial from intended content?

Lets say, for the sake of argument, that yeah the parents were stupid enough to think that's a porn site--- after all THAT IS what you're trying to IMPLY; do you think that they'd miss the OTHER half of page in which the content I've typed up exists? NOW DO YOU?---- Come on, you gotta be reasonable. More than 90% of the movies available to children of that age get to see more than that picture.

Going back at the ecchi thread; it's existence is undeniable. I know a group of people who kept on clicking on it by accident, that's equivalent to ads poppin up every now and then.

All this aside, you have got to open your mind, HAS ANY OF YOU ever clicked on that "porn, flith, sick.." ad we had earlier on this year? EVERYTIME I clicked on it, I was redirected to University of Phoenix's website. That's 10 out of 10 times. Or that "WARNING DO NOT CLICK HERE." which redirected me to a bunch of websites, I know one of them was about a website which sold books--- that itself was pretty scary to me, but other than that, no nothing.

Good god, I can't imagine seeing another one of these arguments. What's next? Stop the Party Poker Ad since it simply is gambling and gambling is the root for all corruption? YEAH! Let's do that! But--- does anyone else see the irony of US saying all that? Downloading illegal files, doing all sort of illegal activities here and there, BUT as soon as something pops up that bothers you- THAT HAS GOT TO GO AWAY. Fascinating logic! If I may have to say, I am UTTERLY defeated by your incomparable logic. It simply is brilliant!.

You feel very strongly about this noob, but the thing is, if we can remove these adult content ads that people are forced to view each time they visit the site, I think it's a positive step forward for FTV since like dchaosblade said many people might avoid visiting since the first thing they see is that ad. Also, sure theres a lot of adult content going around in the forums and in real life, but we have a choice to avoid them, whereas your forced to view the ad, even if you do skip it, its annoying doing it all the time and one of these days a kids parents might see it and think its porn.

So even though theres worse stuff in the forums and in real life, this ad probably tops em since it's what most people see 1st when they visit the site. I see no gain from keeping it. Also, as for party poker ads, etc, they arent as serious to me since they don't display women in skimpy outfits which can lead people to assume its porn. All those ads in my opinion should be banned from the site.

AGAIN, they're NOT ADULT content. They're 16+ content (more like TIPS) you RECEIVE on your CELLPHONE if your cell provider is ANY OF THE ABOVE.

Well they're wrong!--- Don't make me pull out my magic cards and destroy your arguments utterly. Just accept the fact that ad was not inappropriate and LEARN from your MISTAKES for ONCE.

There have been many cases where I went to the main page, and then walked away for a minute, and came back to find one of the ads up. And not everyone is quick with their mouse, nor are they EXPECTING 'inappropriate' content to be advertised. Maybe they want to see what the ad is before closing it?

Maybe the anime YOU watch is full of naked characters, but not for all of us. The majority of the anime I watch has no nudity, and has very little ecchi. This argument always pisses me off, b/c it's like my parents used to claim that anime is just animated porn. The argument is so blind and prejudiced that it does not stand as a point except to show one's ignorance of the truth.

If most parents are anything like mine; then no, they wont bother to read the other half of the page, they'll just jump to a conclusion until you can prove otherwise. No insult intended, but most younger kids wont think to say "okay, read the whole page and tell me if it sounds like porn". Also, saying that "more than 90% of the movies available to children that age..." falls into the same category of my previous comment. All these forms of media can be avoided if you want to - and even if the movies YOU watch are like that, it doesn't mean that everyone watches movies with content of that sort.

That still doesn't negate the fact that they had to click on that specific link to bring up that specific content [reference to ecchi pics threads]. Clicking on the FTV main page should not bring you to a "guess who" of inappropriate [looking] ads. The two are not equivalent.

It doesn't matter what the ad links you to. If the ad has material that is deemed inappropriate for the younger audience - when FTV claims to be at least relatively child friendly - the ads should not be displayed. Having a pic of a nude woman is having a pic of a nude woman, even if it links you to Barnes&Noble. The ad is inappropriate regardless of what is being advertised.
