If you are using VLC, there should be a set option. Go under Advanced Hot Keys in preferences. I think the default is Ctrl+Shift+S, but don't take my word for the default keys. Hold it as long as you want and it will make screenshots for every frame. I suggest not holding it for too long as it may crash your media player at times.

hotkey or use the right click and click on snapshot for vlc

Media Player Classic can also do those screenshot

If you want to step through a video to pick out individual frames, I recommend the freeware editor VirtualDub (at least for AVI files), you can go through from scene to scene or frame to frame and copy individual frames to the clipboard or save a sequence of frames as bitmaps or jpegs. There's also a modded version, VirtualDubMod, which can edit MKV & OGM files (but unfortunately not H264 ones).

VirtualDubMod is also useful for demultiplexing the OP or ED of an anime as an MP3 file to listen to on your MP3 player etc. (you can also use the original VirtualDub for this but it makes an MP3 encoded WAV file instead, which not all players will cope with.)

If you need software to crop or tweak a saved image, the freeware image viewer Irfanview is very good for basic adjustments and effects.

Just click on Save WAV and then change the extension of the file you're about to save to .mp3 (if that is what is in the file you are ripping audio from). And all decent players should be able to handle wav. If it can't then I say remove it.

Problem solved, next time use the search function this problem has already been discussed.
