Plot:

2312 A.D. Four years have passed since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, after having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an independent security force, Arrows, separate from the formal Federation army to further unify nations and the will of mankind. But the reality is the inhumane oppression of anti-government powers, doctrines, and ideologies in the name of unity. Setsuna F. Seiei, after surviving the battle four years ago, has decided to once again fight with his Gundam.

Might as well make a 2nd thread to this series, to avoid spoilers of the 2nd season in the 1st season's thread. Yipee to more Sumeragi-chan!!

Actually it affected Geass R2...number of viewers significantly decreased in Japan compared to R1 when it was airing in the usual Saturday time slot (before networks thought that Saturday is a primetime day and decided to remove anime from many of those blocks).

It doesn't affect us since we're watching fansubs, but it does hurt TV viewer numbers in Japan.

Well, while it does affect the viewer amount of geass. The time change for 00 was not as major as it was with geass,

Overall I am inclined to believe that changing the timeslot does not affect the contents THAT much and the timeslot change for 00 did NOT affect the story or contents AT ALL.

And the tv viewer amount does not matter after all, since all what matters in the endgame is the dvd sales.

Curious, does the broadcast corporation pay the studio for rights to air it in Japan?
Also, I would assume the # of viewers would also be counted as a reflection of the show's success somewhere.

Most of bigger companies "purchase" the timeslot in advance, so while ratings do reflect something, its the dvd sales what count. R2 had extremely low ratings on TV but did a batman on dvd sales. 00 Season1 was the same story.

Until dvd sales are like they are - show is safe. In a way, such system is more smart than the usual USA/Europe "tv ratings are everything" system, where tv shows get canceled because ratings get down fast.

For this instance 00 would have to REALLLY Fail (I mean, Ayakashi Ayashi level fail) to be canceled. Since 00 DVD and model sales hold strong, Sunrise won't "cut" their source of income.


Anyway Episode 1(26) aired.


Episode starts off with show-off of A-Laws force fight. Then it focuses on Saji getting screwed again and meeting Setsuna.
Then it focuses of Setsuna in Terminator-Exia trying to own A-Laws forces.
Then it focuses on Terminator-Exia getting owned.
Then it focuses on Tieria owning in Seraphim(I refuse to call it Seravee)and the three-people stand-off between Saji, Setsuna and Tieria.
Oh we also get Louise this episode...Can I scream - DARTH VADER? :E
OP plays as the ed for episode. And drat, we find out more about Lyle.

EPIC, fast-paced, awesome-animated with even better music... and new op is worth every damn money... So good to have you back GOO :>.

Man, why did they have to get uverworld for op. That band is so generic and overrated that , damn, why is it that EVERY anime producer wants to stuff their songs for OP.

Well, it is UVERworld, overrateness is a must then :>. However bad the song is it still does fit into the action and scenes with such grace that I'm loving it from the first moment I saw it.

Also, UVERworld's Gekidou was kind innovative and nice song ~.~.

Gundam Seravee has a huge Gundam face on its back that spreads out when it releases a super GN field.

Plus, I'd have to agree with how awesome the OP is. Wanna know why Uverworld always gets anime stints? Because even if they're overrated and generic, they still make great music for AMV's.

Why, you are quite right, my friend.

Actually, the Virtue/Nadleeh was my least-liked model of the four, but Tieria's new unit look spretty spiffy. The Seravee's back head reminded me of the Unicorn Gundam a little bit.

I gotta admit, though, that even though Kunio Okawara's the veteran Gundam designer, I'm enjoying the new Gundams (which are not Okawara) a lot, since the look a little more streamlined and less blocky than the other Gundams.

But, yeah, can't wait for next week! I wanna see the 00 Gundam in action!

Also, I'm interested in what Saji will do now. He knows that Setsuna is from Celestial Being, and he now knows virtually that Celestial Being is regrouping and such... I hope he joins.

Also... does Louise remind you a little too much of Stellar from Gundam Seed Destiny? This includes the fact she's turned into a druggie, of course.

It was a great first ep. Maybe now Saji will stop being emo and fight against these new A-Laws. Although I think its kinda funny how seeing Exia made Louise want to get her fix of pills. I wonder how the world's politics are gonna playout this season, since it is very clear that a lot of people are against whatever the A-Laws are. Also if Exia's GN drive was taken for 00 gundam, how were the A-Laws able to detect that real GN particles were coming out of Exia?

It was "not taken". It IS taken now. Basically Setsuna skirmished around all these years, ever since the Graham-Setsuna battle, repairing Exia by himself. CB lost contact of him to the extent that it took them 4 years just to plan on where on what Setsuna would do. It was basically Tieria's shot-in-the-dark, hoping that Setsuna, who he is, would interfere with the events at that colony.

Hence why we see 00 with only one exh.cone in one of scenes. Both drive and cone was still on Exia.

When I saw the new Louise... only one thing came to my mind... new Psycho gundam! I can almost picture her piloting one of those further down the series and share the same fate.

Aside from that, I am wondering what Wang Liu Mei is up to and why is she with Ribbons.

Lastly, is it just me or is there some puppy love going on between Setuna X Teiria?

finally, so far so good. i hope it wont be a disappoint like the first season. setsuna looks even sexier now with longer hair, i think ive got a man crush on him. lol. his hair reminds me of those 80's 90's??? mecha pilots (voltes v/voltron lol)???

i wanna see setsuna and that black haired chick hook-up~ still waiting for that part. lol.
