a new series with half lenght episodes titled Thermae Romae cought my attention, poor animation almost as bad as Double-J and High Score short series (probably made by the same studios) but its story and comedy are way better ^^

"The story is a comedy about Lucius, an architect of public bath houses in ancient Rome, who time-travels to various modern-day baths in Japan. The author explores the two cultures in the world "that have loved baths the most: the Japanese and the Romans."

I watched this one last night and got a great laugh out of it. Puts culture shock on a whole different level

I usually don't like those short series very much because they tend to be gimmicky and I lose interest, but this one looks promising if it keeps it up.

Yes Thermae Romae is quite funny, but it would be great if he would clash with other cultures except the japanese too.

I found this pic here surfing the net and its pretty funny.

Ok its pretty old but still great.
If one would do such a list nowadays the candidates would probably be Touma (Index), Arararagi (Bakemonogatari), Lelouch (Code Geass), Saitou (Zero no Tsukaima) and Yuuki (To Love-Ru) to name just a few ^^

And btw, Kaiji doesnt have bad karma hes just an naive idiot, nothing more. He couldve saved himself so many times in both series.

Oh that list again huh? Well I haven't seen that updated ever since that was created. Although for Touma I don't think he would be on that list becuase he pretty much states he's highly unfortunate. Also, he's only looking after Index since it seems safer for her to be in his care of course.

As for the other's you have mentioned Ossi-san, yes they do have the right to be added to this list.

Although to update that list it would seem that Negi himself would have is bounty slightly increased due to what's been going on in the manga as of late, and Tenshi since we now know what the Light Hawk Wings do in the end of the OVA series.

Finally I don't think anyone could out right overtake Tohno-kun's top spot no matter who they are or what they did if you ask me.

Touma defenitely has earned a spot on that list, if not even the highest, just think of all the girls who are interested in him. There isnt only Index, there is Misaka, Kanzaki, Itsuwa, Orsola, Aisa and Hyouka. That are plenty enough.

Yes judging from what is written on the list Tohno really is a beast ^^

Granted while TOuma does have girls falling for him, it seems he does try to keep them at arms length or at least as good friends if nothing more. Although he does tend to tease Biribiri-tan about how she feels about him. Not only that, but she happens to be still in middle school while he's in high school.

yup it may become even more interesting, that way the next episodes would have more varierty if Lucius time-travels and learns from other modern (or not so ancient) cultures which were a bit too much into baths... btw looks like you forgot someone to add as potential candidate in the most wanted guys list that was updated since old school series until 2006 ¬¬ if it was done a year later there must have appeared a very infamous and hated character but at the same time worshipped by many people specially in 4chan to even dedicate in his name certain days with pics of God with his face, can you guess who is it? (coincidenly he has the same birthday as me)

@Necro: I didnt go through the whole list of animes I have to find everyone who needs to be on the list I just took 5 I remembered.
And its not difficult to know who you mean and you certainly are right. He deserves the first place regardless of what Tohno did.

Ok I can't let that one go by unchallened you know Ossi-san. As a Type-Moon Servant I have to say that unless someone can outdo Tohno-kun's harem that pretty much can handle themselves and/or handling Tohno-kun himself can be considered a major undertaking.

I mean the only way someone could outdo Tohno-kun on that list would be them having a bigger harem then him, they have to be highly dangerous on thier own at times, and they have to be the most broken character that could kill without much trainning at all.

I mean why else do you think he has the highest bounty of them all? It's because his threat level is so high that I doubt that anyone could match him outright... Well maybe Negi and his harem backing him could come close to him as of now, but that's harem girls v harem girls if you ask me.

Pretty much no matter what you do, unless you happen to be a naturally born assassin there is no way any guy could outdo Tohno-kun if you ask me. Although I might be wondering off into the Powerlelve arguement of him now due to the whole pic of him managing to take down Beserker from Fate in a crossover doujin.
tongue.gif

Right if you look it like that he may be the most dangerous one, but I meant like "who is one who most certainly has to die?" and thats where Makoto from School Days comes first place, since pounding a lot of girls and then running away when responsibilty arrives (regardless ofthe question is Sekai pregnant or not) is just despiceable and a lot worse then just pounding a lot of girls.
At least thats how I view it.

Although I have to ask this, but doesn't Makoto die by the hands of the girls he messed with in the first place? Pretty much if you ask me he was an idiot that managed to kill himself over atempting to create a harem.

As for Tohno-kun pretty much he has a harem no matter which girl he went along with all becuase of what Aoko-sama did to him from the getgo. I mean his imouto, the two maids, his sempai, the Idiot Vampire Arc, Sion, his dream familiar (I also could include White Len as well with that), his unfortunate vampire classmate Sacchin, and of course Miyako.
tongue.gif

Pretty much those girls can handle themselves well against each other, or even againt Tohno-kun, if need be. Pretty much they don't try and kill him, because where would the fun in that be. Besides some people would claim that any member of his harem can be considered as a threat as well if you do not know how to deal with them.

Oh since this is somewhat related to my discussion here it seems that they are doing another Melty Blood manga staring the Back Alley Alliance this time around.

well you'll be not disappointed after watching ep.3 and 4 (except for emperor Hadrianus confessions ¬¬), was hilarious to learn many fun facts of the ancient roman history and how Lucius is amazed by apparently common but useful bath items from the modern Japan then copying them xD ...since its debut I though about making a new thread but I don't know if is worth it as there isn't much to discuss about and I just checked it's only 6 episodes long, so the finale of this short series will be next week and hopefully there isn't any yaoi between Lucius and Hadrianus

I dont know but could it be that this week was the week of the clown in Japan or something? 3 completely ridiculous eps at once is really rare. Chihayafuru had a ep I havent seen worse in my life, Persona 4 wasnt better (overall that anime sucks more and more) and Zero no Tsukaima was a total laugh too.

well this is one of the variable lenght anime I liked most besides Eve no Jikan and Carnival Phantasm so is alright to give it 6/10 (my preliminary score was 5/10), despite it being propaganda for the upcoming live action movie just like Usagi Drop was xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0eqHjKlNYY ...after all I guess it's not bad taking in consideration many mediocre or lame series of its kind lately, here goes a list of the ones I watched this last couple of years:

Carnival Phantasm - 8/10
Eve no Jikan - 8/10
Hellsing The Dawn - 7/10 (ongoing)
Thermae Romae - 6/10
Cromartie High School - 6/10
Morita-san wa Mukuchi - 6/10
Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki - 5/10 (airing)
Chibi Devi! - 5/10 (ongoing)
Recorder to Randoseru - 4/10 (airing)
Houkago no Pleiades - 4/10
Copihan - 3/10
Double J - 3/10
The Legend of Koizumi - 3/10
Nyanpire the Animation - 2/10
High Score (ironically) - 2/10
Isshoni Bathing with Hinako - 2/10
Isshoni Training with Hinako - 1/10
Isshoni Sleeping with Hinako - 0/10

Thermae Romae was quite enjoyable. Lucius freaking out about every little thing was great.

Yes most of the 5-min series are bad, but Morita-san wa Mukuchi was a real gem (1st season got 8/10 and 2nd got 7/10).
The same with Eve no Jikan (a 8/10 from me).

@ImTakes: Denpa teki na Kanojo was a really good little show. Too bad that there isnt more of it coming.

talking about that I just watched the first two episodes of a new short series titled Gokujo subbed yesterday, surprisingly the animation is alright and there is a group of hotties enjoying school but unlike Morita-san this one is weird in a not so funny way so I doubt it'll get any better in comparison ¬¬ ...meanwhile I'll keep watching Recorder to Randoseru and the last episode of Chibi Devi, so far both are alright just like I enlisted above

Synopsis: The story follows a Roman architect named Lucius, who is having trouble coming up with ideas. One day, he discovers a hidden tunnel underneath a spa that leads him to a modern Japanese bath house. Inspired by the innovations found there, he creates his own spa, Roma Thermae, bringing in the modern ideas to his time.

Necropinion: this is one of the very few live-actions I like more than the anime based from its manga, a very good adaptation but I wonder if the Space Brothers and Another movies will be better than the TV series aired this year...

Thermae Romae (TV series, 6 short episodes) winter 2012 - 6/10
TR (live-action movie) spring & summer 2012, BD/DVD fall 2012 - 7/10

Ah! they were showing this at the Japanese film festival here but I didn't manage to catch it unfortunately
sad.gif
I really wanted to watch it too! I think I've seen an episode of this before and it was just hilarious!

that's right Sam ^^ even though the TV series was done in Flash animation it was worth to watch, after all TR won the 3rd Manga Taishō and short story award at the 14th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize... also the film had its North American premiere in september 2012 at the Toronto international film festival, if you're still interested in checking out both adaptations let me know to PM you where I watched them
