QUOTE Misfits follows five delinquents in their 20s on community service who get struck by lightning and are given special powers. Kelly (Lauren Socha) gains the ability to read the thoughts of others, Curtis (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett) can rewind time when experiencing an immense sense of regret, Alisha (Antonia Thomas) sends people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin, and Simon (Iwan Rheon) can become invisible. Seemingly left unaffected is smart alec Nathan (Robert Sheehan).

Yes I know this isnt anime related in anyway nor is it K-drama but i just have to share my love of this show with someone and since this is the only forum I use I will share it here.

I love this show. I have been religiously watching it since 2009. I think its way better than any other superhero show Ive ever seen (and I watch alot of them). People have likened it as the British version of Heroes. But to do so is a massive injustice. Go watch it seriously. If you like down to earth, gritty, violence, sex, drugs, comedy and ofcourse super powers then watch it. It is obscene so if you dont like that kinda stuff well move along.

I cant articulate my thoughts on this well because it is unlike anything Ive seen before. Last night episode, they introduced a Sylar like character (not what you think, trust me). In some scenes my heart was pounding so hard. Death by milk?!?!?

Basically, I want this show to gain global recognition because I thinks its marvelous and splendid. First, Ive have coerced my friends into watching it and now I will coerce anybody who is coercable.

If you happen to catch this thread before it is closed/deleted GO WATCH IT NOW. If your British and havent seen it WTF have you been doing?!?

PM me for links if your interested.

MOD Note: Since this is a Live Action this topic has been moved from the General Discussion thread.

I've been meaning to thank you for this post. I probably would have never heard of this series if you hadn't made it. Very cool kind of answering the question, what would Heroes have been like if it hadn't fallen apart at the end of the first season?

I watched the first episode of this show the other week, after hearing so much about it. I liked what I saw, but I'm not sure it's something that will keep my interest in the long term ... that one girl's superpower really bothered me.

Might stick to my dramas!

I love this show sooooo much. I am a fanatic and like all fanatics I must proliferate my fanaticism to as many people as possible.

If you are worried about where the show can go believe me when I say the first two seasons are amazing! The third season falters a bit but that is due to structural reasons rather than lack of ideas.

As for the powers the writers are very aware that some powers have limited potential.

I love this show so much that I would even consider watching the american remake even though I know it would make me die inside.

Thanks for recommending this franzoir.
Just finished watching the first season, and man that finale was great. Going to continue watching later this week, wondering how Mr. Prick will be getting out of that situation xD

Good, good. Im glad more people are getting into it because I truly think it is something special.

And as for Mr Prick, now that he knows his predicament, his asshole-ness becomes even more legendary.

Out of the three seasons. I think season two is the best and make sure you watch the Christmas special at the end.

As a British man, I did watch this amazing show on Channel 4 but I haven't watched the 3rd season yet, I'm not sure when I'll watch it but I will one day. Also, I can't remember his name but his face kinda looks like a horse, I heard the 3rd season is sorta f**ked up in regards to his new powers .

Dude lol, you kinda spoiled a massive plot point.

I liked that season three keeps it fresh. And yea it is eff up. More effed up if you think about the biological implications.

Soz Fran, put spoiler tags to it....and the things I've heard...I'm like "how? why? shock-value?". I bet there will still be a 4th season to this though. I'm a little surprised why the Game of Thrones TV series thread isn't in this part of the forum when this thread exists here.

Well, today I kinda rushed through the second season, since found the time

still have the Christmas special though. So yeah.. now I'm officially hooked to this show franzoir XD

I don't yet know how 'complete' the third season is.. but with how everything is going now, I wouldn't mind there being a 4th and more.

It didn't seem to fit the whole 'live-action' part or the dorama part, and considering there were a number of movies \ series threads in the generel discuss forum, I started the GoT thread there. Hope that answers your question ^^".

Little confused but I'm pretty sure season 3 is finished.

I meant how complete it was plot-wise

Sorry might have been confusing since its kinda 4.56 AM now. In fact I just almost ate a pastel stick that was in a small bag near me.. though I had some kind of bread-sticks there

Season three continues with superhoodie's plot thread. The ending to season three left me stunned and not in a good way.

But there is a season 4 coming up. I think the show will live or die by season 4 because creatively they are kinda starting again.

Even so Im looking forward to it. I hope they can create another character like milky magneto. At first I thought he was a joke but I wasnt laughing by the end.

I'll give it a couple more episodes and see how it goes. I've heard really good things about the first two seasons, so might at least watch those

Honestly, I only really got interested in the show when I learned one of the Downton actresses guest starred in it

Probably the wrong motivation!

For those that are interested, a new season of misfits starts this sunday and I think it premiere a fortnight later on BBC America.

Here is the trailer (which is pretty awesome) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU4XaFpK8gA

Yep, brand new characters, brand new powers, brand new storm. It is a pseudo reboot.

I'm very nervous because I love this show so much but im not sure if they can survive with nearly all the original members gone. While season three was good, it definitely does not hold a candle to season two.

This is the one thing I loathe about British actors. As soon as America comes knocking they will ditch whatever they were doing to try and make it big stateside. Robert Sheehan (Nathan) did it so he could star in a crappy film with Nicholas Cage (Season of the Witch) and Iwan Rheon did it (Simon) so he can appear in Game of Thrones Season 3. It really does show no loyalty to the platform/fans that gave them exposure.

Oh well, as long as they can come up with great villains again like milky magneto, GTA man and fake Jesus but also with an interesting character arc like Superhoodie I will be happy.

One thing that made me laugh was Lauren Socha (Kelly) was suppose to return but is now serving community service after a racially aggravated assault. The irony is so palpable it is unreal.
