I have been a member of this site for a while, and finally have a way of contributing back to it. I know HTML, CSS, Javascript, some VB, and I am learning php and asp, and have learned the tie-in SQL to go along with it. I am wondering who I speak to about helping with the site if it is wanted/needed...

I'd just send a PM to Daft. I doubt he needs help but.. who knows.. give it a shot.

I don't know if daft wants anything for someone to do at this site, but I was thinking about making a site for the fansub.tv fansubbing group... We have a forum, but thinking about sprucing things up a bit. If you wanna see us, we're at the irc channel #[email protected]

It's a pain for me to make it, as I do many other things... but if there is someone else that knows how to make it other than me... I'd sure be thankful.

I know Daft has the ability to run it himself. I remember him making that Java based downloader for the site himself, then beta-ing it on the site and troubleshooting on the forums and through PM's.

Can you take a look at http://script.aculo.us/ and make recommendations, if possible, as to what some good applications of that technology would be for Fansub.TV?

Most of those are Effects using a Javascript library. Some of them had interesting applications, such as the sortable/drag and drop features that would allow for a personalized favorites page for each user. The random effects could be used to have the updates on the index page move in, fade out, jump out when mousedover. The drawbacks to those would be murdering the load time with the effects on page load, and having each user's database information increase.

Some of those effects and Web 2.0 stuff could be done with flash, or dhtml/css, like interactive drop-down/spry menus.

Dont know if that was helpful or relavent, and sorry for the lag time in responses, work and classes.

Thanks millardo. If you have the time to do additional research, could you also identify what some good & easy Ajax implementation opportunities, if there are any, exist within Fansub.TV?
