Synopsis:
In the anime's story, a comet falling will bring about a great calamity, and in order to choose a child fated by the falling comet, the family of the "Reiken" clan with a long storied history is once again resuming its entrance examination process to find disciples. The protagonist, who possesses a special soul that is only available once in a thousand years, decides to take the exam, and he starts down the path toward becoming an exceptional sage.

QUOTE (Norren @ Dec 6 2015,4:16 AM)uld be the worst show of the season, and considering some of the Studio DEEN offerings, that's saying somethineven if it's their least invested series this season, for me ep'1 was fun enough

Has 'Prince of Strides' aired yet? I'm just curious about how they portray the runs through the towns/cities etc.... otherwise, it seems like a typical HS plotline. Day runs, night runs, obstacle situations, mountains, beaches etc.... timed or what? I think it would have potential if they focus more on those runs than the rest... as such a sport would attract a certain type that could be easily characterized with stereotypes to start with, and those that win or look to win get more characterization as a prize.

First eps of Rakugo and Boku Dake looked ok to start, lot of character setup, though Boku ended with the start of the mystery... wished i didn't read all of that Wiki entry on it.... that last character is the killer.... no spoiler alert on that

Oh well, its an ongoing manga, so that type of situation can go on and on as long as interest remains in the audience. As for Rakugo, there's alot of similar character and plot setups, so I hope the writing doesn't fall into genre norms... I wonder if about the woman... if she's going to start performing or not? None in Japan? Traditional setup? So would she be the first to break the mold?

Just looked at the list again, and I wonder what Reikenzan is like? A lot of theseanimes follow familiar setups, so it's up to the writing staff to give them life.

Anyone see 'Grimgar' yet? How about Ao No Kanata No Four Rhythm? Even that Magical Girl thing could be ok... as always, it's up to the creativity of the writers, though, if targeted to the elementary set, then most likely I will have a hard time watching them.

QUOTE (gdpetti @ Feb 12 2016, 08:28 PM)Thanks for the heads-up,you're welcome! can't blame you didn't know about its subs, finally english ep'4 but also #6 in spanish was out yesterday... translated better lately so I'm liking TNs, plot twists and how Oriku breaks the 4th wall (Pissing off others easily)

I notice none of the groups are picking up "Reikenzan: Eichi e no Shikaku". There are 3 raws out but no translations. Is there a group planning to pick it up?

BL

Spirit Blade Mountain: Qualification of the Sages, finally S2 with english fansubs

The music/songs were better last season, but I fast forward through them anyway... though I didn't last season because I liked them... oh well, that might have to do with an aspect of preselling the package
yep I prefer Rakugo S1 songs too, but Reikenzan S2 OP my favorite this Winter... nice to see Jellysubs translating it, looks like Kaiunho is back @ep.6 cliffhanger :)

That intial 'jump' reminded me of the opera piece in 5th Element. As for your current season favorite, <_< IMO, of course, it's ok, but seems rather standard... maybe it's just a poor season for the music industry there? I haven't watched enough this season to remember any... last season had the EP I liked from that dictionary making anime... Fune wo Amu.... but nothing comes to mind for this season.... I think I've learned enough about some of this to finally realize why some songs are included 'as is' and not edited down more, or change the lyrics etc... as the music industry is on board with the production and might be paying some of the bills.... so  . I do hope Rakugo keeps up with the good work so far... haven't seen the manga....

yep nice ED :0 still i find studio Deen funny in animating Rakugo, Konosuba (my favorite comedy currently) and Reikenzan... about ep.7 Kami fansubs did a good job so i hope they sub #8 now that a new arc starts, don't mess with Rurisen ^_^

I see S2 of Reikenzan... I wonder what S1 was like? So many of the same storylines each season... so it's usually a question of whether it's done well or not, with any different twists or not....
Well S2 is getting a serious plot since Oriku started his own religion, just to help his people against other sects... better animation and design while S1 Is colorful + more comedy, yesterday ep.9 was subbed but I'm glad 0ubu returns in #10 B)
