it seems there isn't a thread for this one. I just came back from Japan
tongue.gif
and saw that from the 4th of january there is going to be a second season about them in France. Anyone know anything more about it? and what we can expect?
And how did everyone like season 1?

my mistake: it isn't a second season. it is a 2-part special. I found a bit of info at fujitv. Other info i couldn't read (my japanese reading isn't that good) so if anyone could help
biggrin.gif
??

Yeah it is confirmed (saw it on the main site).
Heres some extra info fram a wiki site:

* Title(romaji): Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe
* Episodes: 2
* Viewership ratings:
* Broadcast period: 2008-Jan-04 and 2008-Jan-05
* Air time: Friday, Saturday 21:03

Synopsis

A two-night special will kick off the new year, taking place in Paris after the timeline of the original series. --Tokyograph

So it airs tonight..... we can expect the fansub to be out soon then!

thanks for the info, darkness_n_destruction. I do hope that a fansub group picks it up. Does anyone know about who is willing?
i also saw the anime version. Indeed that one was the best one (look at my list for the best anime of 2007
biggrin.gif
). But i also like the live version and so i do hope that the special is being fansubbed. This gives the original series (anime and live) a kind of ending about what happens to them in France.
I also hope that there will be an anime version (a season 2) but i don't think that will happen.

Lord! I started downloading the specials... I picked up three but there are four available. One is the Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe, Nodame Cantabile Special Lesson 1 and Nodame Cantabile Special Lesson 1 - 2nd night... I'm not yet sure what the differences are. But their file sizes are HU-GE!!!

I just started reading the manga - volume 10 (picking up from the time Nodame and Chiaki headed for paris). I soooooo want to watch this. I hope someone sub this. I hope it's the original group that subbed the live action version. I love how they did it.

i have to admit that this special was the first live action i actually wanted to watch. i watched the first episode because, well, it was on tv and i thought the main actress was interesting.. but after watching that first half, i had to watch the second as well

god, my soul's been corrupted. next thing you know i'll be listening to jpop

It has been confirmed on their website: the fansub group who subbed the first season is going to sub the specials
biggrin.gif
. All hail to sars fansubs
laugh.gif

All hail sars fansub!!!
laugh.gif
Umm... when will they start releasing the subs???

Well... finally, I got to watch the Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe... It's my lack of Japanese - this is not yet the special. This is the behind the scenes thing. Not subbed, but fun to watch. Some things I can identify with the manga. My net provider sucks... Lesson 1 still has not yet uploaded, not that I will be able to understand it because it's not yet the subbed version.

I'm just curious though about how long will this run. Schedule? How many episodes? Is this really just a special or is it something like a new season?

The site doesn't say when they are going to release it
sad.gif
. I do hope soon
biggrin.gif

It is a 2 part special, about 4 hours or so in total (so that makes it about the same size as 5 regular episodes
biggrin.gif
).

The sars fansub site just mentioned that they are going to try to release part 1 this january
biggrin.gif
. Hope they make it

Oh my God! Nodame cantabile, the live is one of the most hilarious j dramas I've ever watched... I actually watched all 11 eps on a mini marathon on a weekend... I think Ive mentioned that before...heh...

After a while, when I tried to watch the anime, it looked so...ordinary... so tell the truth i left it to watch it, when the live action effect has wore off a bit...
tongue.gif

About the 2 specials I knew it and was very happy when I finally d/loaded them but I really want to watch them subbed...

Sars, huh? That means I have to redownload them when they are released.... If I recall correctly sars is releasing hardsubs... hmmm..Its ok I guess...

The two protagonists but also the old hentai man are so great... I wish they would make a 2nd season instead of just 2 specials...
dry.gif

And right now I have this terrible urge to rewatch it...Time...I need time....
(gets hold of her hair and shakes her head dramatically left to right, left to right....)

I watched the raws (Lord, I promised myself that I will wait for the subs!)... God!!! I can't wait for the two episodes to be subbed soon!!!

I actually watched the anime before I watched the live. I love the live way more... God... this is way addictive. I'm now in the process of the manga.

Finally had the time to watch the first of the two episodes in one go
biggrin.gif
. Very nice indeed to watch Nodame en Chiaki again. I sure was glad that these specials are still on the same note as the original series. Nodame having fun all the time but still serious about Chiaki and Chiaki serious but sometimes having to learn how to have fun
biggrin.gif
. I do like the growing feelings between them that is a continuation of the original series. Can't wait for the second part of the specials
laugh.gif
(the preview at the end of the first episode sure is great). I do hope that they will show more of the piano pieces of nodame, i missed that a bit in the second half of episode 1
sad.gif
). Anyone also liked episode 1?

loved it... love this show so much i watched the raws of both with all the knowledge of the manga that i love. i love the way they stayed loyal to the manga, but i can't blame them because the story is good. the only thing that disappointed me was the choice of background music since the choices were quite common (in the classical music arena anyway --- not the orchestra music! that was great!

well, nijlandp, i think you're gonna get your wish. these specials are about what happened after they left europe. the first ep is about chiaki's career and the second one is about nodame's.

I was more than overjoyed to see this whopping special.
biggrin.gif
The original season was the first live action I've ever seen. I didn't think they could pull the anime comedy into real life, but they managed to do that and more. I love seeing the dolls being thrown when its supposed to be the actual character.
biggrin.gif

Happily waiting for sars to finish the next special. Might as well stop by there and try another live action drama to break up the constant anime stream.

The jpop got me when I bought my Ipod a few months ago.
tongue.gif
My brother refuses to borrow it since its nothing but anime OP and ED's, as well as some full albums from a few artists. He made me put in an American band so he could use it while doing his laundry.

Season 01 was so great !!!
I watch the anime but the live action is amazing
Juri Ueno as nodame was so refreshing
she won best actress in japan
usually I don't like remake of manga but this one ...I enjoy it

Waiting for season 2
laugh.gif

It seems sars just made it in time for valentines day
biggrin.gif
. They have just released the second part of the special. I'm curious if they are finally going to show their feelings for each other. And who the guy is who kidnapped Chiaki.

I just saw the second episode of the special and it was absolutely great. To see how Nodame is doing at the school and how the relationship between Nodame and Chiaki is turning out sure was great. Only one tiny flaw in the end to my opinion, why did he just hug her
blink.gif
?
I do hope that they are going to do a second season even though this special sure made a nice ending. They can still make a story about them graduating from studying abroad (and maybe problems they can get by their long separations due to elise's plans
biggrin.gif
), the planned performance of the rising star orchestra, how the family of nodame and chiaki are going to react, maybe even more than just the relationship (like nodame always tries to get a weddingring
laugh.gif
a wedding maybe?). Yes, i do hope for a second season with at least 23 episodes
biggrin.gif

well, i finally watched the subbed version of it... (i read the manga and watched the raws when they were release so even though i had an idea what is about, i couldn't really understand it
biggrin.gif
)

anyway, i thought it was really really good. unfortunately, i don't think a new season will come in because they covered several chapters in the manga skipping volumes and stuff like that. but that doesn't mean i won't be crossing my fingers for it. the thing is i really wanna see the conversation that chiaki and viera-sensei had when they finally met...
