I just wanted to find out how many animes were produced after their original mangas or novel/light novel series finished.

I'm going to stick to only animes adapted from mangas, novels or light novels.

The reason I'm bringing or making this topic is because I wanted to assess the likelihood of a manga/novel/light novel series getting an anime adaptation after it's finished.

Manga Finished and then an Anime Produced Compiled List:-

1.) Kara no Kyoukai movie series
2.) Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
3.) BLAME! (I think the OVA series came out after the original manga finished)
4.) Fate/Zero Season 1 and 2
5.) Shinsekai Yori
6.) Abarenbou Rikishi!! Matsutarou
7.) Donten ni Warau

So basically, I would like everyone to just name all the ones they can and I'll just add it to the above list.

I put Chuunibyou up because the original light novel finished a year before the anime began. However, I'm aware there's a manga adaptation still on-going but I don't think it will last long.

You know what I'm just going to pin this post up so you can get a better chance at people wanting to talk about this. Granted I'm not to sure what can or cannot be added to this little list of yours that you are compiling, but I'll help out as best I can here.

Thanks Wolfie. I just wanted to know if certain mangas that have been finished in the past 5 or so year could potentially get an anime adaptation by seeing how often it has happened in the past.

BLAME!'s OVA series is quite experimental tbh. Kara no Kyoukai was made into a movie series because TYPE-MOON are just simply amazing....particularly Nasu-sensei.

I was wondering whether Change 123 was ever going to be made into an anime because there were rumours floating about a possible anime adaptation before the actual manga ended.

There are so many out there that I want to see an anime for but I just don't see it happening.

Fate/Zero should make the list, I'd think. Not sure of anything else, tho'.

Thanks, I'll add Fate/Zero to the list, it matches the criteria since it started off as an actual novel.

I'm not going to include visual novel adaptations though, since most animes adapted from them come after the actual game is released.

Well, define 'finished', as Cross Game was started as an anime, but the last chapter of the manga came about around the same time as the last chapter of the anime, and since Mitsuru takes a few years to finish his long stuff, the 'end' was already written in his mind first, so perhaps that would count.

Wasn't Suzumiya Haruhi LN finished before all the anime got started? The success of one produces the demand for the anime which reaches a wider audience, I'm guessing, as tv usually is.

Then does that include things like Nodame Cantible, which the early manga's success produced the demand for the anime and more story, so more manga, then another anime series etc. Some stories finish and some, like Naruto never know when or how to, as the money brought on by success is too tempting for a normal human to avoid.

I sort of want to change or make a new thread of a compiled list of animes that have full adapted the manga or light novels that they are based on like Nogizaka, Nodame and FMA: Brotherhood.

Abarenbou Rikishi!! Matsutarou is a new addition to this compiled list, the manga for it finished 16 years ago.
