Has anyone tried this yet? I heard there were artifact issues in this version when dealing with videos that have the old x264 encode. Can someone confirm this, and if so, does it make the video unwatchable?

I've just checked with a few videos and i have no artifacts with videos that use x264 at all. Kansa was saying he had this to me the other night there but im using core AVC 2.0 and i'm so far loving having no lagging opening or ends on any video i throw at it. XD

I'm currently testing this out myself. Been switching back and forth between DXVA, MT settings in FFDshow, and CoreAVC 2.0.

So far results are positive, though results for up-scaling lower resolution content is giving me hard aliased edges for older video. All tests are being run with MPC-HC 1.3.400.0.

Will reply again once I start testing with some encodes at 10+ ref frames.

my problem is solved. I have coreavc 2.0 now and will do my own testing. Thanks for providing input.

Thanks for reminding me about this awesome little codec. My netbook now plays 1080p animes with lots of cool softsubbed karaoke effects and all! (before it played through 720p perfectly smooth but stuttered a bit in 1080p playback).

So far haven't noticed any problems with it regarding artifact issues, but this weekend I'll be watching some 'classics' that use the older .h264 codecs, so I'll be sure to report anything.

That said, I'm going to leave this thread open for use to discuss CoreAVC (whether it be people saying they like it, for people asking for assistance with it, or for pointing out any problems they have with it).
