QUOTE (Hiroyuki @ Nov 17 2006, 04:12 PM)I think the confusion comes about because of a stupid company called
Manga Video who decided to refer to their anime releases as "manga" because they thought "manga" sounded cooler than "anime".
Haha, yes, I remember that. That might be the case, but there was a period in time when people started calling certain anime shows manga. This being the reason that those certain shows were older, or had a different art style.
For instance, something newer like Fate-Stay-Night, would be called anime. Something older like Case Closed that had poor quality coloring and a different style of drawing would have been considered manga.
I don't exactly know how this came to be, but I haven't heard any show being referred to as manga for a long time now. I'm guessing because manga always had more of an obvious drawn look even through editing, and anime always had a 3D touch to it.
QUOTE Mind you, as a greengrocer I can relate to that, my apples have been selling much better since I started calling them "oranges".
ROFLMFAO. Ah yes, I bet if you started calling vegetables 'meat', then you would sell a whole lot more.
