woW thats cool , what programs do you guys use for this?

I also used terragen once to create some levels for a game. But you don't make it yourself, it's just a generator that generate's it for you after you applied some settings. You can't really say you (really) made that yourself, if you made that from scrap in photoshop then it would be fantastic. I know some people who can, and there work is always great.

Creating Levels for games with TG ? Sky-Box textures ? I tried to do this for Half Life ... It didnt work well. But I know that TG-pics are being used for Serious Sam 2 and 1.

...well some settings. Its a bit more than that ^^

things like those are supposed to be done with a 3D modeling apps like 3D Studio Max or Maya.. if you do something like that from scratch with apps like these, it would be fantastic. If you do it with Photoshop, you're crazy and wasted your time

If you want to make it for a game Studio Max and Maya are better. If you just want to make a landscape (as in art not for a game) and make it in photoshop then i think you have got some skills, if you make it from scrap.

doing 3d stuff like those landscapes in a 2d app is incredibly difficult.. lights, shadows, perspective, refractions, reflections... most of those things, on photoshop, can only be done in a hit-or-miss basis. you can simulate many of those things, but accomplishing to accurately do it is nearly impossible on any average-complexity scene...

and trust me, doing it well on 3d studio max or maya is really difficult as well.. don't forget that these apps aren't used for games only, they're used for masterpieces like the special effects on lord of the rings, for example! and those special effects are art

Nice i have done those tutorials aswell a while back. Just try to learn from them and change them to whatever you want to do with it.

i've followed a tut, deviated a bit, than animated it, and it led to this:
