Fall Season 2014 Line-Up and predictions

as new addition for this and upcoming lineups: guess what popular light novels, mangas or games will become animes next year ;p kudos to Klyern for his idea:

- my must see: 1. Log Horizon S2 (definitely the sequel I'm expecting most) ^^
2. Fate/stay night 2014 (could be Heaven's Feel route or s2 Hollow Ataraxia?) ;/
- hopefully better than previous seasons: 3. Hitsugi no Chaika S2 (can't wait) :0
4. Psycho-Pass 2 (a 2nd extended recap or does it really continue this time?)¬¬
- could be good telling by the studio: 5. Ronia the Robber's Daughter (Ghibli) :3
6. Terra Formars (Aldnoah with mutant cockroaches instead? by Liden films) o.0
- not expecting much: 7. Girlfriend Beta (just in case Ms. Monochrome is in it)

Well I know Fate/stay night is on my list to watch this fall again.

The other series are:

Hitsugui no Chakia season 2


And of course finally Kantai Collection, because I've been hearing a lot about it as of late.

Hmm, so far can't see anything too interesting apart from FSN. And even that one depends on WHAT ufotable will do with :/

If Ronia is anything like the Moomins... that will be appointment viewing for me. My inner child needs nourishment. Ronia seems to be like the Borrowers for Swedes. Thought Arietty was lazy... good film but the Borrowers was uninspired source material unlike Howl's Moving Castle. Will be interested to see how they adapt it and the Swedish reaction.

I'm very nervous about PP2.. I cant go through another R2. I actually almost cant imagine it being good from a narrative perspective.

For the unaware, Fate/Stay Night will be returning as ufotable's take on "Unlimited Blade Works." In addition they have announced a "Heaven's Feel" Movie featuring Sakura's route in the near future.

Not much to go by on that preview. Fate/UfotableBladeWorks, Log Hora, and Chaika are naturals. I like the Denki-gai no Honya-san manga, so I'll probably pick that up, too. Ronia looks interesting.

Ore, Twintail ni narimasu... am I reading that right? It's a Mahou Shonen Gender Bender?

Just realised..... i dont like hero bank but... its kind of sad that no one is following it or liked it on this site...

Its like theres almost no kids here, feels sort of dead/sad like a playground or a theme park without children lol, or like london in the first minutes of the "28 days later.." movie.

But just dont mind me lol im being silly xD

What can you do, lol, this site is a bit of a "blast from the past" (though major kudos to daft for keeping it up and modernizing the interface recently), so the core community is aging with it.

I was 15 when I joined this site. Nobody heard of Code Geass back then, and I remember watching Haruhi episodes as they aired. Much has changed since then, although IIRC FTV has never been big on generic shounen releases.

I was just thinking of starting to do a marathon for the Kindaichi series but the problem is that the original 148-episode TV series isn't fully fansubbed, only 63 episodes have english subs.

The reason I wanted to do this is because the new Kindaichi series is about to end in a few weeks and I was thinking of catching up to it. I might just skip everything and just watch the new series and then get to the older movies and OVAs afterwards.

Half of me wants to watch it to see which alternate telling this one will be now. Aside from that looking forward to seeing how the Fate series will be like since it's done by ufotable here. So I'm guessing they are going to find a way to do some sort of tie-in to Fate/Zero here.

Other then that seeing Aikatsu getting another season doesn't surprise me at all here since I get the feeling this may be one of those 200+ ongoing episodes here. Half of me feels like it was a mistake on picking it up in the first place though. While it is good the series feels like it's dragging its feat for no good reason here.

The new Tenchi show will only be 5min episodes, so it's not really a full series. Which is a disappointment, but it does have the same character designer as Yozakura Quartet and Durarara!! so that's a big plus.

So in other words kind of like a 4-koma of antics I take it then? Well that's kind of a letdown here. Usually big name series tend to get their star with 5-minute shorts, or a manga, or something here, not the other way around.

Ai Tenchi Muyo....damn only 5 minutes. That truly sucks, I was hoping for a 25 minutes per episode anime series.

I think I'll still end up watching it, it also gives me an excuse to revisit older Tenchi Muyo animes, there's a lot I haven't watched from that franchise.

About my previous post regarding hero bank, somehow it ended here when it was meant elsewhere to lol, just now noticed this thread, thanks for supporting the idea!

Might be a bit late to be making predictions but im pinning for Centaur no Nayami and Denpa Kyoshi for the season after next, they been around for a while and are anime worthy, plus they are safe bets since they have no gore xD

If i'd have to put a second bet, id say maybe Hekikai no AiON (remember Karin / Chibi Vampire? same author, even same universe) or Gunka no Baltzar, its drawings look like Attack on Titan, the story is kind of like a mililtary version of Maoyuu or Gin no Saji (heavy on the technical side, which is culturally appealing), and all the uniform heavy atmosphere reminds me of the Valkyria Chronicles games (similarities might help boost its profile lol) not too popular right now afaik, but one can always hope ^^

And if i had to bet on something ecchi to keep the ball rolling and the genres diverse... (I can already feel the stares from the people that hate ecchi ) i'd probably bet on Monster Musume no iru Nichijou, its sort of a harem situation were the protagonist goes nuts and starts racking in freeloaders.


#FallLineUp: Im excited about the Tenchi "series", Yowamushi, Log Horizon and Psycho Pass getting their second season as promised, just like anyone else.
But i find it a bit dissapointing that no one noticed Denkigai no Honya-san getting animated, its one of my favorites for this upcoming season.

ps: what do they call series that last 5 minutes like the Tenchi we will be getting? (or like Himegoto) im not really sure what the format is called or if they are webpisodes or what.

The "Ping Pong The Animation" OST was released a week ago and it's just an incredible soundtrack to listen to whilst working or gyming.

Again, these... just should be obvious.

My choice picks: Akatsuki no Yona, Denkigai no Honya-san. (Umio x Sensei!)

If you were so much as okay with Soredemo Seikai ga Utsukushii or Fushigi Yuugi, you'll love Akatsuki no Yona. Yona starts off a bit weak as the sheltered princess stereotype, but she grows superfast. Denkigai no Honya-san is an awesome little nerd culture exploration/parody. (Perhaps in a similar vein as Genshiken? I never read/watched that one to know.)

The "This could be interesting": Nanatsu no Taizai, Bandit daughter Ronia.

I ended up reading Nanatsu no Taizai after it's crossover with Fairy Tail a while back. I don't care for it that much, but some of the characters are awesome. Ronia looks like it's either going to be awesome or crash and burn miserable, but I'll give it a watch.

The "epic stupid lolwut " award: Mahou Shounen Bender Twintails.

Probably not going to watch this past the first episode, but I'm going to watch at least the first episode to see if it's actually as ridiculous as it's summary.

There's probably some others to pick up, but that seems like a good short list to me.
