school rumble?

i dunno if school rumble has ever been on this site, but it looks like a great show. what i've read of the manga has been hilarious, and i heard the anime was good too. it seems strange to me that it's not hosted here ...i keep seeing avatars with the girl... anyway has it been licensed or was it here at some point and got dropped? just wondering...

School Rumble is indeed hilarious... However, many anime sites received a request from Media Factory, the Japanese distributor of the show, to cease distributing fansubs of their property. Unfortunately School Rumble and Gankutsuou, two of my current favorites, were among those.

The fansubs are still available, however, if you know where to look.

i saw that it was created by shuuichi shigeno. weird. i guess that explains why the trueno shows up in the first ep though. i'll have to look into gankutsuou too. thanks.

edit: wah! gankutsuou! count of monte cristo in the future, on the moon? the characters look very unusual... and the way it's animated looks like it'd hurt my brain! ...still want to see it though.

Ben-sama, it isn't necessarily licensed in the US at all... As I understand it, Media Factory feared that more people were just downloading the episodes than were buying the Japanese DVDs.

Gankutsuou is indeed based off of the Count of Monte Cristo. The art style is very unique, and it takes a few episodes to get used to it, but I've really grown like it. The show is done by the same people who did Blue Submarine No. 6, if you remember that show.
